Farcroft can sand your parquet floors – and just look at the pictures here to see what a difference we can make! Parquet flooring is made up of wooden blocks, arranged in a regular geometric pattern, and it can look absolutely stunning. Over time, however, the blocks can come unglued, and start to make your floor look tatty and uncared for. That's where we come in. We can reaffix rogue tiles, and restore your parquet floor to its former glory by sanding it down, and then applying a beautiful and long-lasting finish.

Did you know...?
The patterns on parquet floors are entirely geometical, and may be made up of squares, triangles or diamonds. Parquet flooring was first introduced to the palace of Verailles in 1684 – and hasn't gone out of fashion since then! Now, the most popular parquet flooring style is the decorative herringbone pattern, shown in the pictures here. All types of hardwood can be used for parquet flooring, including oak, lime, beech, mahogany, pine, maple and walnut. Bamboo parquet flooring is now increasingly popular. It has a light grain and can resemble oak. Also, bamboo is eco-friendly and highly renewable, as it grows so quickly – oak takes 120 years to grow to maturity, whereas bamboo can be harvested in three. It's also very durable.
